Our Story

For more than 50 years the Nitsopoulos family has been bringing comfort and hospitality to the Niagara Region.

1970

It started with five brothers.

In 1970, five Nitsopoulos brothers opened a restaurant in St. Catharines with four simple mandates: strive to be the best at what you do, provide superior products and services, surround yourself with excellent people, and always go the extra mile.

From there the brothers bought their first hotel, the Howard Johnson in St. Catharines (today the Hampton Inn), and kept growing. Today the family operates as Heart of Niagara Hotels, and the four mandates still run the business.

Ostin’s is the newest chapter. Located inside the Holiday Inn & Suites Parkway Conference Centre, it brings together a carefully built menu, a Niagara-first wine list, friendly and attentive service and a room made for lingering.
